Eat more to lose weight and stay healthy?  Sign me up!

As Jody Victor was telling me, the trick is not necessarily eating more food but eating more frequently throughout the day.  Joe Victor and I decided to eat fruits, vegetables, meal replacement bars and healthy snacks in between our 3 meals a day. 

If we start at 9AM and eat something healthy every 2 hours until 9PM, then we will accomplish our objective.  This will keep our metabolism working and burning off the calories and fat. 

 When we starve our body, it wants to preserve life so it actually stores our food as fat to live off.  We need to keep our metabolism working for us, therefore, feed it throughout the day properly by getting on a game plan for life!

We have a game plan, www.markerman.com, for our wealth and now it is time to follow a game plan for our health!

View Article  Steve Victor: Food during the Holidays

My brother, Joe Victor, and I realized that we have entered the Holiday Season and will have lots of food put in front of us and under our noses.  We tend to eat to satisfy our taste buds and not necessarily our body.  Therefore, let's remember some basic tips for eating right.

Be sure to follow the one plate theory and keep sizes of food to about the size of your fist.  We need to give our stomach time to digetst the food so please eat slowly.  You want to be satisfied not full or stuffed or even sleepy.  Stay healthy!

As my mentor, Jody Victor, told me once...nothing tastes as good as it feels to be thin.  He is right!  We only get one body so take care of the one you have...you can't return it for a smaller size on January 2nd.  It is yours to keep!

As Bob Covino and Don Wilson were mentioning how people set goals for the new year to lose weight, get healthy and stay fit; we have to really start this goal setting in December for it to count.

View Article  Steve Victor: Water...It Does a Body Good

We all know drinking water is good  for us, but did you know the following facts:  Blood is 92% water, Bones are 22% water, the Brain is 75% water, and Muscles are 75% water!

Jody Victor and I were talking the other day on how people don't drink enough water to keep healthy and fit.  Most don't drink it because there is no taste involved with water.  People enjoy that instant gratification when their taste buds are involved. 

While in Orlando, FL going over some new stuff on our TEAM website, www.markerman.com, with Bob Covino, we noticed everyone drinking soft drinks or iced tea.  Why is that when we know so many facts about how water is so good for you?

Water helps protect against a variety of ailments, may improve your appearance, may help you lose weight, gives you more energy, increases the calories you burn, and helps your body reduce fat deposits.

Joe Victor and I were trying to figure out how much water we should be drinking each day and found a cool chart that states as a general guideline, the average person should drink between 1.5 - 2.5 quarts every day to replace the body fluids lost throughout the day. 

Drink water...it does a body good!
